Al Mitchell & the New Born Sinners
Jasmine Thakral

LES BODS are a garage/psychedelic rock three piece based in Brighton. The band formed in late 2018 but have been playing with their current set-up since July 2021 – Harry Mitchell (vocals, guitar), Will Nash (bass) and Zane Meaby (drums). Over the past year they have played sold-out shows across Brighton, London and Portsmouth, headlining small festivals or supporting bands like The Howlers and Deeper. Their ethos – how music connects to people’s souls, and brings people together. Les Bods starred in the 2022 music documentary ‘The Bodies’, exploring how music contributes to social change. It was nominated at film festivals across Europe and won an award at a New York-based film festival.
Their sound has evolved from the heavy stoner rock singles ‘People’ and ‘Free Your Mind’ through the mind-bending and equally powerful Tea Stained Day. The band are working on their next releases for November 2022 and early 2023, bringing a more contemporary sound for their next musical explorations.

Influenced by the awkward prophets of the American subculture before him (Grandaddy, Eels, Ariel Pink), but incorporating pop hooks worthy of indie-pop luminaries such as Beck, Pheonix, & MGMT, Al Mitchell & The New Born Sinners is carving out his own fascinating path through the UK music landscape. The plaudits being received for his new musical direction the result of years learning his craft in and around the burgeoning alternative scene of his hometown of Hastings; a scene he can legitimately lay claim to having helped forge with his other bands Baby Goliath, Somnians and King The Native. But Mitchell is far too humble to make such proclamations, being as he is, the seaside town’s poster boy for shy alternative rock.

Jasmine Thakral is an indie pop singer songwriter from Bexhill. She writes songs about her emotions, her friends and the TV shows she’s obsessed with at the moment. She’s inspired by Taylor Swift, Lorde and Joni Mitchell. She’s had her tracks played on BBC Introducing, BBC Asian network and BBC Radio 6. She was also featured on Rolling Stone India.
Jasmine’s upcoming releases include a song called ‘Cavity’ which is about the time she thought she had a cavity. It’s a weird topic for a song but it’ll make sense when you listen to it! Another upcoming release is called ‘Vampire’, which is about when you become friends with someone who’s an ‘energy vampire’ and sucks you of all your energy.
